People celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi by considering the arrival of Lord Ganesha. It is said that Ganesh had come to earth on that time from Kailash Parvat with his mother Goddess Parvati/Gauri. As per Hindu Mythology, without performing Ganesh Chaturthi, all puja rituals are incomplete. Devotees celebrate this puja in their own way. Some install the clay idol of Ganesha privately in homes, or by making elaborate pandals publicly(temporary stages).
